MARADONA; THE ABSOLUTE HEAVENLY LEGEND

Although, his stint at Barcelona won't get enough recognition, however, his total footballing brain and mentality as a leader on the pitch has made him the best player of his generation bar none.

Born on 30, October 1960. All a young Maradona knew and loved was football, and to be a great footballer as well, I will be damned if he didn't achieve that. If you want to know what being a real and absolute legend means, check on Maradona's time with the Argentina national team and Napoli.

When Maradona led his U-20 Argentina team to the U-20 world cup, you could know from there that he was meant for greater things, then came the 1986 world cup.

Never has there ever been a better performance at a single world cup competition until Diego Maradona graced the world's biggest footballing stage in 1986. His sole presence in that Argentina national team made the other footballing nations fear them. He singlehandedly led them to win the 1986 world cup, and yes, he did score the greatest goal of the 20th century in the competition.

Maradona had critics, and like a great footballer he was, most of the times, he proved them wrong. After moving away from Barça in 1984 to Napoli for a world record fee. Napoli hadn't ever before been a dominating team in Italy and he made them that team to beat. No wonder the fans worshipped him like a god, he deserved it.

Napoli won their first two Italian serie A ever during Maradona's time at the club, and also finished runner-up twice. He was a leader, a real leader with the captain's armband on.

Of course, Maradona had personal problems, but that as well exists in every footballer's life, that shouldn't be a thing to pick out from the wonderful career he has had. He is one of the greatest player ever to play the beautiful game, and arguably the best ever.

"He is leaving us, but he will live on forever because he is eternal" - Lionel Messi (November 25, 2020).
  The absolute heavenly legend.
