BARÇA VS ELCHE FC, ONE LAST MATCH TO GET IT RIGHT

A match that should be given the utmost importance. It's the 55th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy match, Barcelona will face newly promoted side Elche FC, a club that happened to be Barça's supposed first opposition for the 2020/21 season until it was postponed.

From recent memories of the previous match against Girona FC, Barça is clearly progressing and the question now is "is it enough to compete at the highest level and more importantly, win trophies?" Well, the last preseason match against Elche FC should prove it to the culés.
Thus far, all Barça's preseason matches have been with the absence of certain players like Pjanic, Ansu Fati and Todibo which had made it even harder for Ronald Koeman to implement his ideas and find the perfect formation. Players like Suárez and Arturo Vidal are excluded cause of their uneasy exit operations, whereas Marc-Andre ter Stegen gradually recovers from his injury.

Now that most of those injured are back training with the squad except Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the availability of so many options fill Ronald Koeman's mind, who has only one match left to find the right system for the season.

                       PLAYERS TO WATCH

For the first time in many years, youngsters are bound to influence Barça's performances in all competitions this season. The likes of Francisco Trincão, Pedri, Ansu Fati, Puig, Araujo, Konrad and Dembélé, should be followed closely in the match to be able to know what roles they might have in the team this season.
Older players like Lionel Messi, who clearly has begun to fit in dynamically, and the new signing, Miralem Pjanic will probably get some minutes also. Antoine Griezmann and Countinho's roles should be followed closely too.

Ronald Koeman is on a mission, whether he fails or not is unknown, the culés can only hope.
